deathbyshooter
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
deathbyshooter is a multiplayer first-person shooter focused on responsive movement and straightforward gunplay. Host a game from your machine (listen server), join a friend’s session by address, or run a dedicated server for a stable host while everyone plays as a client.
Multiplayer uses ENet: you send input and aim intent, and the server owns the real simulation—position, shots, hits, ammo, and deaths—so hits and outcomes stay fair and consistent. Local play still feels snappy thanks to prediction and cosmetic feedback on your own client.
Features (current direction)
- Online / LAN matches with join-by-address flow
- Pistol fire, reloading, and AI opponents for testing or filling a server
- 3D arenas with room to move and fight
Platform: Windows and Linux (x86_64).
Controls are typical FPS (WASD, mouse look, jump, fire, reload, weapon cycling).
This is an active development project; builds may change often. If something breaks or you want a feature, the community thread is the place to say so.
Credits: Built with Godot 4.x and C#.
